Biggest Bosses!!!

According to Forbes, Vladimir Putin is currently the most powerful person in the world for the 4th year running, citing his political influence, financial resources and his near absolute power in multiple spheres. The Economist, on the other hand, titles Chinese President Xi Jinping as the most powerful, with his authoritarian control over the world’s most populous nation. All politics is local!!!

The former U.S. Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill coined this phrase which encapsulates the principle that a politician’s success is directly tied to his ability to understand and influence the issues of his constituents. Jan 4, 2011.

Who doesn’t grasp this? The politicians success is dependent on the electorate when are we going to understand this simple fact and hold these fellows to account?

Senators – ‘present’ or ‘not guilty’???

“When they call the roll in the Senate, the Senators do not know whether to answer ‘Present’ or ‘Not Guilty’.”

– Theodore Roosevelt

Couldn’t resist the temptation of posting this again.

This is especially as it applies to the Nigerian senate!

Anyway you turn it around many are usually absent pursuing their other personal interests and when present in the chamber busy battling to prove to the populace that they are not guilty!

From year to year hardly sponsoring any bills nor contributing meaningfullyto any debate on the floor of the Senate.
