According to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, at the end of 2014 the number of people forcibly displaced due to war, conflict and persecution had risen to 59.5 million, the highest level ever recorded.
This means that globally, one in every 122 people is now either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking asylum. If this were the population of a country, it would be the world’s 24th biggest. (http://bit.ly/1Ki9ryk)
